Each year, on Veteran's Day Weekend, the WWII History Center holds its annual Open House and the WWII Reenacting Corps holds their annual Public Battle reenactment in conjunction with El Dorado's Celebration of Freedom. Come see what's new at the Museum and watch a Veteran's Day parade. This year, instead of just watching a WWII reenactment, take part in training sessions! Learn how to be a soldier from WWII!

WWII displays on the grounds of the Butler County History Center and Oil Museum.
10:00 am - 5:00 pm
The Butler County History Center and Oil Museum opens their gates for the public to come in a see the WWII displays and to talk with reenactors. Admission to the Museum is free, but a donation of $2/person is suggested and appreciated for admittance to the battle reenactment.
8:00 am - 5:00 pm
The WWII History Center opens to the public in El Dorado.
10:00 am
Parade form up
11:00 am
Veteran's Day Parade through downtown El Dorado.
12:00 pm
Hot dog feed at Gordy Park
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Public Training Courses. Sign ups (with liability waivers), instruction, formation into groups, rotation through four different training sessions. For people to participate and to spectate. Child participation with parental signature.
3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Interact with the public - talk to reenactors and get up close and see uniforms, weapons and vehicles. Vehicle rides, if possible.
